Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has announced its panel for the upcoming Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) and hall union elections, scheduled for 12 October.
The panel nominated Sajjad Hossain Hridoy as vice-president (VP), Safayet Hossain as general secretary (GS), and Aiyubur Rahman Toufik as assistant general secretary (AGS).
BNP’s student wing declared the panel at a press conference held at Buddhijibi Chattar (Intellectuals’ Square) on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Central General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir formally announced the names. Chhatra Dal’s Joint Vice-President Kazi Zia Uddin Baseet was present there.
Chhatra Dal has also finalised panels for 14 halls and one hostel, which will be made public soon, Nasir said.
The CUCSU panel includes: Azharul Islam Biplob as sports secretary, Joy Barua as assistant sports secretary, Md Mozammel Haque Hridoy as literature, culture and publication secretary, Shahidul Kayser as assistant literature, culture and publication secretary, Touhidul Islam Bhuiyan as office secretary, Shahriar Ullah Fahad as assistant office secretary, Nujhat Jahan as women’s welfare secretary, Shafqat Shafik as assistant women’s welfare secretary, Md Ozayer Hossain as science and ICT secretary, Fairuz Sadaf Deep as research and development secretary, Imam Hasan as social welfare and environment secretary, Md Abrar Galib as health secretary, Shahriar Limon as liberation war and democratic movement secretary, Shrutiraj Chowdhury as career development and international secretary, Md Sayem Uddin Ahmed as communication and housing secretary, Yasin Arafat as assistant communication and housing secretary, Abdullah Al Sakir as law and human rights secretary, and Md Abed as library and cafeteria secretary.
Panel members include Forsal Pranto Babor, Mizan Mia, Nusrat Jahan, SM Torikul Islam Rimon, and Taef Hossain Emon.
After the announcement, the candidates submitted their nomination papers at the CUCSU office.
