“The situation is getting more complicated every day. Fascist forces are uniting once again and conspiring to regain power. We urge the interim government to arrange an election without delay,” he said at a discussion titled “Gano-Abhuthan-er Protyasha o Desher Ganatantrik Uttoroner Poth” at the Jatiya Press Club.
Fakhrul said BNP was the first to propose political reforms, and therefore the government should not waste time. “Engage in dialogue with political parties, identify the problems, and hold elections immediately,” he said.
He warned that the country may fall behind for years if the current opportunity for political transition is missed. “Every time, our youth sacrifice their lives in movements. This time, we must not let the opportunity slip away,” he said.
