Cleaner held with 4.22 kg gold at Shah Amanat airport in Chattogram

Chattogram Customs House detained a cleaner with 4.22kg gold from Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport on Wednesday morning.
The arrestee was identified as Md Ilias, 30, hailed from South Patenga area in the port city.
Confirming the matter, Chattogram Customs House Deputy Commissioner Md Riyadul Islam said, “Acting on a tip-off, our preventive team searched Ilias while he was returning after cleaning an aircraft of Fly Dubai hailed from Dubai at 11:00 am. The team found 36 pieces of gold bars weighing around 4.22 kg worth TK 2 crore.”
The detainee was handed over to Patenga police station. Processing of filing a case against Ilias was undergoing, custom official Riyad added.
