Sacked trainee police sub-inspectors on Sunday formed a human chain in front of the secretariat demanding reinstatement of their jobs.

They alleged that 321 trainee sub-inspectors were sacked in four phases with silly allegations on the eve of joining the police force after completing one year or more than a year training period without any payment.

‘The allegation of breaching discipline over taking breakfast is false and fabricated. We finished our breakfast in that morning. The academy sacked us with baseless allegations,’ said Munmun Akter, a sacked trainee SI of the 40th batch.

She said that they demanded that the government should reinstate their jobs immediately.

Mohammad Rashed Khan, another sacked SI alleged that he was sacked from the Academy for standing casually in the field.

‘It cannot be accepted that I was sacked for my standing style,’ he added.

The human chain programme began at about 10:00am and was continuing till filling the report at about 11:10am.

A large number of police personnel were deployed at the programme venue.
