Two students were killed and five workers injured in a road accident at Dumur Chowrasta area in Bahuli union of Sirajganj sadar upazila on Wednesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mehedi, 15, a student of class nine, son of Rakibul Islam and Naeem, 14, student o class eight, son of Shamim, both of them were residents of the area.

Local UP member Rezaul Islam said that a vehicle carrying the victims lost control and collided with a road side tree this morning in the area, leaving seven, including two students injured.

Among the injured, Mehedi died at 250-bed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital in Sirajganj at noon and Naeem breathed his last on the way to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Bahauddin Farooque, officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station, confirmed the matter to media.
