The price of a 12kg liquefied petroleum gas cylinder at the consumer level has been increased by Tk 212, raising the new price to Tk 1,940 from the previous Tk 1,728.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission announced the hike in a notice issued on Sunday afternoon, stating that the revised rate would come into effect from Sunday evening.
The latest adjustment came a day after the government increased fuel prices to record highs on Saturday. Diesel prices were raised by Tk 15 per litre, octane by Tk 20, petrol by Tk 19, and kerosene by Tk 18.
Earlier, on April 2, BERC had fixed the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder at Tk 1,728 for the current month as part of its regular monthly adjustment.
