Emerging actress Sabrin Azad has quickly become a name to watch following her standout performance in “Bonolota Express”. Portraying the complex and often polarising character of Jamuna, she has managed to leave a lasting impression on audiences with her raw, realistic acting. While many viewers found themselves frustrated with her character, that very reaction has highlighted her ability to bring depth and authenticity to the screen. As her latest work continues to spark conversation, the actress opens up about success, challenges, inspirations, and what lies ahead.

How are you enjoying the success of Bonolota Express?
Honestly, it feels surreal. The journey of Bonolota Express has been wonderful. Seeing all the hard work finally connect with the audience is incredibly rewarding. I try to enjoy it by celebrating the little moments—reading positive messages from fans, going through reviews, and reflecting on the journey that brought me here. I waited a long time for this moment, and finally, it has arrived.

Many viewers were upset with your character Jamuna. How do you feel about that reaction?
I actually see that as a success. As an actor, I tried my best to make Jamuna an irritating character. The audience’s strong reaction; even their anger is very satisfying to me. It means I was able to bring the character to life convincingly.

Many believe you are one of the most promising new actresses. How do you feel about that?
It’s truly humbling and, at times, a little overwhelming. I’m grateful that people see potential in me, but I also understand that it comes with responsibility; to keep learning, to challenge myself, and to live up to that trust. This kind of recognition motivates me to work even harder and choose roles I’m passionate about.

Which medium do you enjoy working in the most?
I’ve worked in television, film, and OTT platforms, and I genuinely enjoy all of them. For me, the most important thing is the character. No matter the medium, I always try to give my best performance.

Are there any actors who inspire your craft?
I am deeply inspired by Jaya Ahsan and Azmeri Haque Badhon. Their long journeys, career growth, and personalities as actresses motivate me. They have consistently delivered quality work over the years. I aspire to build a career like theirs.

Would you like to share any memorable incidents from your acting career?
My journey into acting was quite difficult. In the beginning, I didn’t have a place to stay in Dhaka, so I relied on a friend’s home. I would travel from Chittagong to Dhaka just for auditions. If I was selected, I would return the night before the shoot, complete my work, and go back again. Sometimes I stayed at my friend’s place, but since my bus would arrive early in the morning, I often had to wait outside for hours until the gate opened.
There was another incident that left a mark on me. I worked on a project with a renowned director. Since it was a star-studded production, I felt sidelined in many ways. At one point, it was even suggested that I didn’t need to look beautiful, so minimal effort was put into my makeup. That experience was quite hurtful.

What projects are currently keeping you busy?
I’ve recently finished shooting for a new film directed by Tanvir Mahmud Deep. It is currently in post-production and is being prepared for submission to various international film festivals. Additionally, I have several television projects lined up for Eid-ul-Azha, and shooting for some of them is already underway.

Do you have a message for your fans and readers?
I want to say a heartfelt thank you to all my fans and readers. Your support means everything to me and keeps me inspired every day. I hope to continue bringing stories and characters that resonate with you. I also want to request audiences to support struggling and aspiring actors. When viewers show interest in newcomers, directors are more likely to give them opportunities.
