Today marks the birthday of Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan, who was born on 28 March 1979. He made his debut in the film industry with “Ananta Bhalobasha”, directed by Sohanur Rahman Sohan, in 1999. Since then, he has established himself as one of the most successful and influential actors in the country within a remarkably short time, dominating the Dhallywood industry for years.
On his special day, fans, friends, co-artistes, and well-wishers have flooded social media with heartfelt greetings and tributes, celebrating his enduring contribution to Bangladeshi cinema.
Adding excitement to the occasion, the first look of his much-anticipated film “Rockstar” is set to be unveiled. The announcement has already created a buzz among fans eager to see the superstar in a completely new avatar.
Following the success of “Prince” released this Eid, Shakib has begun working on another project targeting the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha release window. If all goes according to plan, “Rockstar” will hit theatres during Eid-ul-Azha. The film is currently being shot in Malaysia and is directed by Azman Russo.
According to the director, Shakib will be seen as a trendy, modern rock musician who writes and composes his own songs. This marks a significant departure from his previous roles, making it one of the most unique characters of his nearly three-decade career. To prepare for the role, the actor reportedly underwent special training to learn the guitar.
The film also stars Sabila Nur opposite Shakib Khan, alongside Tangia Zaman Methila as the second female lead. The screenplay is written by Ayman Asib Shadhin, known for works like Banolata Express, Utshob, Kaiser, and Mainkar Chipay.
