Mirza Abbas, political adviser to the Prime Minister and a member of the BNP Standing Committee, has been admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital.
According to sources, Abbas suddenly lost consciousness on Wednesday (11 March) while drinking water during iftar.
The BNP veteran leader was taken to the hospital late at night for treatment as his condition did not improve.
His wife Afroza Abbas, also the president of the Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, has sought prayers from the countrymen for his early recovery.
