Two detained with 31 gold bars in Jashore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested two people along with 31 gold bars worth around Tk7.14 crore from the Jashore-Narail highway in Jashore early Saturday.
The identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from BGB-49 intercepted a private car near Gate-1 of the BGB-49 Battalion in Jashore at around 2am. After searching the vehicle, they recovered 31 gold bars weighing 3.641 kg and detained two individuals. The team also seized three mobile phone sets and Tk 4,815 in cash from their possession.

Commanding officer of BGB-49 Lieutenant Colonel Golam Mohammad Saiful Alam Khan confirmed the matter.
