Fire breaks out at Gazipur RMG factory

A fire broke out at a garment factory named Matrix Style in the Digirchala area of Gazipur Metropolitan City at around 10AM on Saturday.
Five units of the Fire Service and Civil Defence are currently working there to bring the blaze under control.
Azizul Haque, duty officer of the Bhogra Fire Service and Civil Defence Station, said after receiving information about the fire at 10:05AM, five firefighting units from the Bhogra Bypass Fire Service Station rushed to the scene and are trying to douse the blaze.
Local eyewitnesses said thick black smoke and flames were suddenly seen emerging from the sixth floor of the factory. The fire quickly spread throughout the surrounding area. Workers and local residents initially attempted to extinguish the blaze, but as the intensity of the fire increased, the Fire Service was notified.
The cause of the fire, the extent of the damage and any reports of casualties or injuries were not immediately available.
