Nine get death penalty in Cumilla businessman murder case

A Chattogram court on Monday awarded death penalty to nine people and life-time imprisonment to four others for killing businessman Jahangir Alam in Daudkandi of Cumilla.
Acting Judge Md Abdul Halim of Chattogram Speedy Trial Tribunal has passed the order today, tribunal bench assistant Md Sayeed confirmed this to media.
Jahangir was hacked to death at Gouripur village in Daudkandi upazilla on December 1, 2013.
Jahangir’s father Fazar Ali filed a case with a local police station. Later, the case was shifted to Chattogram Speedy Trial tribunal in 2015.
