Singer Mainul Ahsan Noble has been granted bail in a case filed over alleged embezzlement of money through fraud.

The order was passed on Sunday (5 April) by Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman following a hearing.

Defence counsel Imran Hossain said, “On 2 April, the court had revoked Noble’s bail and sent him to jail. Today, we applied for his bail again. The hearing was held in the presence of the accused, and the court granted bail on a bond of Tk5,000 until the charge framing hearing. There is now no legal bar to his release.”

Earlier, on 2 February, the same court had issued arrest warrants against Noble and four others in the case.

Following the warrant, police arrested him on 23 February from the Bottola area under Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj. He was produced before the court the following day, 24 February, where he was granted bail on condition of settlement and subsequently released from custody.

However, on 2 April, when Noble appeared before the court again, the plaintiff sought cancellation of his bail, alleging that he had violated its conditions and even assaulted the complainant at her residence. A separate case was also filed over the incident. The court then revoked his bail and ordered his imprisonment.

The case was filed on 13 August last year by a female complainant. The court took cognisance of the case and directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to conduct an inquiry.

According to the case statement, Noble developed a romantic relationship with a young woman named Anannya Shabnam Roz. He allegedly misappropriated approximately Tk13,18,540 from her between 25 August 2023 and June 2025 under the pretext of marriage. The other accused were also alleged to have assisted him in committing the fraud.

Following the investigation, PBI Sub-Inspector Nuruzzaman submitted a report on 7 January this year confirming the allegations.

Apart from Noble, the other accused in the case include his mother Nazma Hossain, his wife Israt Jahan Priya, his assistant Munem Shah Soumik, and an associate, Masud Rana.
