Bangladesh govt plans to start online classes in schools for saving fuel

The minister for education and primary and mass education ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon on Tuesday said that they were planning to hold online classes in the schools for saving fuel.

While talking to the journalists at Bangladesh Secretariat he said currently they were planning to hold school classes six days per week instead of existing five days to recover learning losses following the Ramadan holidays and different movements in the country.

 

‘In the meantime, for the international fuel crisis we are considering to take blending approach, online and offline classes,’ he said

He made this statement after a high-level meeting chaired by the prime minister Tarique Rahman on the energy situation in the morning at the secretariat.

The minister said that the prime minister had given various instructions to save energy in the country.

Among them, discussion was also held to conduct online classes especially in metropolitan areas.

The final decisions would be taken at the upcoming cabinet meeting next Thursday, he added.

The meeting with the prime minister was also attended by the minister for power, energy and mineral resources Iqbal Hassan Mahmood, state minister Aninda Islam Amit, senior officials of the concerned ministries and power sector experts.
