The Energy Division of Bangladesh on Monday announced bounties of Tk 1 lakh for information about smugglers and hoarders of fuel oils.
The information about hoarding and smuggling are imperative for the local administration to widen the countrywide current drive, said a press release of the division on the day.
Since Friday the government has fielded vigilance teams in 64 districts amid complaints of hoarding, and high demand and persisting queues for fuel at filling stations.
The teams have already recovered fuel oils stored illegally in different districts.
The government faces criticisms because of mismanagement in overall supply chain that has caused the current fuel oils crisis throughout the country against the backdrop of rising war in Gulf Region over the past one month.
