HC questions referendum ordinance, July National Charter implementation order

The High Court on Tuesday issued a rule questioning the legality of the Referendum Ordinance, 2025 and the July National Charter (Constitution Reform) Implementation Order, 2025.
The bench of Justice Razik-Al-Jalil and Justice Md Anowarul Islam asked the government to explain within four weeks why the two instruments should not be declared illegal.
The writ petitions were filed by two proBNP lawyers Chowdhury Md Redwan-E-Huda and Gazi Md Mahbub Alam. The court concluded the hearing on Monday before issuing the rule.
