“Cricket is never a one-player game. On this wicket, a set batsman has to finish the innings because it was a bit sticky—the ball wasn’t coming onto the bat easily,” Tanzid explained after the match. “Aggressive hitting is difficult for new batsmen. I felt if I had stayed till the end, we might have won.”

“Everyone tried to score; it just wasn’t our day. Players like Jaker, Shamim, Rishad, and Sakib can hit well. A few boundaries could have turned the game. We need to work on performing better in the next match,” he added.

Tanzid acknowledged a broader concern with dot balls and strike rates in the middle overs. “We need to reduce dot balls and raise the strike rate to post bigger totals. Consistency is lacking right now, and we need to fix that together. The failure today is on us batsmen, not the bowlers—they bowled brilliantly and kept us in the game.”
