At least 417 people were killed and 682 others were injured in 446 road accidents across Bangladesh in September, according to a report published by the Road Safety Foundation on Saturday.
At least 143 people (34.29 per cent of total deaths) were killed in 151 (33.85 per cent) road accidents involving motorcycles.
Additionally, 27 people were killed and 13 others were injured in 29 railway accidents in September.
In 17 waterways accidents during the period, 21 people were killed and six remained missing.
The foundation issued a press release with a summary of their monthly report, which was based on media reports.
Of the road accident fatalities, 47 were children, 56 were transport workers, including drivers of the vehicles involved in the accidents, and 49 were students.
