The interim government has decided to observe 16 July as ‘July Shaheed Day’ and 5 August as ‘Mass Uprising Day’.

There will be no special celebrations for 8 August, said Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam.

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus presided over the meeting of the Council of Advisers at the Chief Adviser’s Office in Tejgaon.

The government earlier announced 5 August as ‘July Uprising Day’ and 8 August as ‘New Bangladesh Day.’

8 August marks the day when the interim government was formed following the overthrow of the previous government amid a mass uprising.
