Shawdesh Desk:
A special tribunal issued warrant to arrest Sefayetullah alias Sefu’Da, a Bangladeshi expatriate living in Vienna, Austria, in a case lodged for vilifying Holy Quran.
Bangladesh Cyber Tribunal Judge AS Shams Jaglul Hossain passed the order, accepting a report submitted by investigation officer of the case. The court also set November 19 to submit report on progress in executing today’s order.
Earlier on April 23, lawyer Md Alim Al Razi filed the case under Digital Security Act (DSA) against Sefayetullah alias Sefu’Da. The court at that time had asked Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit to file report on May 15 after probing the case.
CTTC sub-inspector Partha Pratim Brahmachari on September 10 filed the report, saying evidences have been found against the trash talking accused.
The plaintiff in his documents said Sefu’da, infamous for his foul talk on Facebook live, vilified Holy Quran on April 9. He, like millions other got offended by his act and decided to take refuge of law to bring the culprit to justice.
