Students from Ideal College and City College are chasing and counter-chasing each other with brick chips and sticks, turning the Science Lab intersection in the capital into a battlefield on Sunday afternoon.
The reason behind the flare-up could not be immediately known.
A large number of police personnel have been deployed to the scene to contain violence, confirmed Sabbir Haider, the duty officer at Dhanmondi Police Station.
