To press home their one-point demand — nationalisation of ibtedayi madrassahs, a 15-member team of teachers of ibtedayi madrassahs across Bangladesh, went to the Secretariat in Dhaka to meet with the education ministry officials at about 1:00pm on Tuesday.

Samsul Alam, convener of Satantra Ibtedayi Madrassah Shikshak Andolan Bastobayon Committee, led the team.

Before heading towards the Secretariat, Samsul told journalists that the protesting madrassah teachers would not withdraw their programme until their demand was met.

The ibtedayi madrassah teachers on Monday issued an ultimatum to the government till Tuesday afternoon to meet their demand for nationalisation of the ibtedayi madrassahs.
