Four women killed being hit by train in Tangail

Four people were killed after being crushed under the wheels of a train at an unprotected rail crossing at Kamakkha intersection under Kalihati upazila in Tangail on early Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Shanti Rani Das and her daughter Shilpi Rani Das, Aroti Rani Das and Basanti Rani Das, all residents of village Nikrail of Bhuapur upazila in Tangail.

Nazmul Hossen, sub-Inspector of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station, confirmed the incident and said that four females were killed being hit by a Dhaka-bound train of Ekota Express from North Bengal in the area while they were walking on the rai track in the area.
