Shawdesh Desk: National Board of Revenue has lifted import tax, value added tax, advanced tax and advanced income tax on dengue test kits to ease the diagnosis and treatment of dengue fever.

Issuing a statutory regulatory order, NBR on Monday withdrew the tax and duties on dengue test kits, dengue reagent and kits for platelet and plasma till October 31.

Sultan Mohammad Iqbal, member of NBR, said the government had taken the decision to offer necessary treatment to the people to increase its cooperation in health sector.

‘The tax-free offer will only be applicable for importing the test kits on the basis of the approval of the Directorate General of Drug Administration,’ he added.

Iqbal said DGDA would also monitor the quality of the kits being imported into the country regularly.
