Court records plaintiff’s statement in DSA case against Murad, Nahid

A Dhaka tribunal on Monday recorded the statement of the plaintiff who filed a case against former state minister for information and broadcasting Murad Hassan and digital media host Mohiuddin Helal Nahid under the Digital Security Act (DSA).
Dhaka Cyber Tribunal’s judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain, recorded the statement of advocate Omar Faruk Faruqui, former general secretary of Dhaka Bar Association.
The judge will pass an order later whether to take cognisance of the case or not, court sources said.
Omar Faruk Faruqui filed the case with cyber tribunal on Sunday for making derogatory comments about BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and her family members during a Facebook Live video.
