Junayed Babunagari, amir of Hefazat-e-Islam, passed away at hospital in Chattogram on Thursday afternoon. He was 66.
He breathed his last at around 12:50pm at CSCR Hospital while undergoing treatment.
Hefazat spokesperson Munir Ahmed confirmed the news.
Babunagari fell seriously sick on Wednesday evening. He was taken to the hospital around 11am today after his physical condition deteriorated.
He was suffering from various old-age complications.
