A team of researchers from Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) claimed to have found seven percent samples of currency notes defiled by coronavirus.

This information was revealed at a press conference held at the conference room of the administrative building of the JUST on Monday, according to media report.

In this regard, JUST Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Anwar Hossain  said, “Our research team has found the presence of RNA of the virus in banknotes obtained from different parts of the country.”

The research team detected the presence of the virus’s N-gene in banknotes for up to 72 hours and the stability of the ORF gene for up to 8-10 hours.

Meanwhile, this research paper has already been published in a journal.
