Ex-director of Institute of Public Health dies of Covid-19

Dr Nirmalendu Chowdhury, former director of Institute of Public Health, died from coronavirus infections at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday noon.

Nirmalendu, 63, hailing from Dupchapia upazila of Bogura, breathed his last at Asgar Ali Hospital in Dhaka around 2:15 pm while undergoing treatment.

Director of Bangladesh Doctors’ Foundation (BDF) Dr Mili Dey confirmed the matter to media.

With this, 111 doctors have died of Covid-19 in the country so far and eleven more had died with coronavirus symptoms, Dr Mili said.
