Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla began a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban.

The meeting has started at around 3:00pm on Tuesday, a source said.

Shringla will also hold a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Masud Bin Momen on Wednesday to discuss various issues including Covid-19 vaccine.

Earlier, the Indian Foreign Secretary arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday on a brief visit.

Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen received Shringla upon his arrival at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 11:30am.

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das, among others, was present.

Shringla, who served as Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, assumed office of the Indian Foreign Secretary in January this year.

As the Foreign Secretary, he first visited Dhaka in March this year.
