BNP Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon has been arrested from the Supreme Court area on Thursday.
Police arrested Khokon at 10:00am in a case filed with Shahbagh Police Station over vandalism and attacks on police in front of the High Court on Tuesday, Shahbagh Police Station chief Abul Hasan said.
Activists of a pro-BNP organisation clashed with police in front of the Supreme Court on Tuesday after blocking the road to demand the release of jailed BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Later, a case was filed with Shahbagh Police Station against 500 BNP leaders and activists including its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in this connection.
